Not a Consumer Reporting Agency. This website is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The information here, and on any third-party tool linked from this site, may not be used to make decisions about credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA.
Accuracy of Information
Government offices change phone numbers, hours, addresses, fees, and procedures without much notice. We do our best to keep our pages current, but we cannot guarantee that every detail on this site is correct at any given moment. Before you visit a courthouse or send a payment, call the office directly to confirm.
Not Legal Advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice. We point you to resources and explain how things generally work in Marquette County, but a website cannot replace a licensed attorney.
Third-Party Search Tools
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party companies. We do not control what those tools return, how they price their services, or how they handle data you submit.
Outbound Links
We link to court portals, sheriff's office sites, clerk's office sites, state agencies, and other resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external site.
No Records on This Site
This site does not host any court records, jail rosters, warrant data, marriage records, divorce records, or vital records. We point you to the offices that do hold those records. To get an actual document, you have to request it from the issuing office. Marquette County court records are maintained by the county's courts and the County Clerk, who serves as Clerk of the Circuit Court, along with the 96th District Court and the Probate Court.
Access to government records in Michigan runs through the Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., which gives the public the right to inspect and copy public records under MCL 15.233 and allows offices to charge fees under MCL 15.234. Court case records are governed instead by the Michigan Court Rules, chiefly MCR 8.119 and MCR 1.109, and by clerk procedures rather than ordinary FOIA requests.
